Hazardous Weather Outlook: Scattered to numerous shower and thunderstorm activity will continue on saturday with locally heavy rainfall frequent lightning and gusty winds possible.
Breezy northeast flow over the weekend and continuing into early next week will lead to a higher risk of rip currents along the Atlantic coast as well as possible small craft advisory conditions over the coastal waters.
Forecast Details: Saturday a back door front will move south into northeast Florida with a surge of northeast winds overspreading the region behind it. With high pwat's, strong low level convergence and middle level impulses traversing in from the Gulf will go with continued high probability of precipitation. Have gone with likely probability of precipitation across northeast Florida where showers/storms will probably begin during the late morning and then spread inland during the afternoon. Have gone with chance probability of precipitation across southeast Georgia. Steering winds become east and increase to 10 knots. Due to the cloud cover along the coast maximum temperatures held to the 80s, inland areas will still get to near 90.
Sunday high pressure builds north of the area providing drier conditions across much of southeast Georgia with low probability of precipitation there. However higher moisture levels and easterly steering flow across northeast Florida results in scattered morning showers along the coast and scattered storms inland during the afternoon. Breezy and cooler along the coast with highs in the 80s but near 90 inland.
