Today's WX Outlook...

Weather Underground

...Locally Heavy Rainfall Possible Today ...

Today: Mostly cloudy. Chance of showers and thunderstorms in the morning...then showers and thunderstorms likely in the afternoon. Some thunderstorms may produce heavy rainfall in the afternoon. Highs in the mid 80s. East winds 10 to 15 mph. Chance of rain 70 %.

Tonight: Cloudy. Mostly cloudy with chance of showers and thunderstorms in the evening...then partly cloudy with chance of showers and thunderstorms after midnight. Some thunderstorms may produce heavy rainfall in the evening. Lows in the lower 70s. Northeast winds 5 to 10 mph. Chance of rain 50 %.

Areas of rain with isolated thunderstorms will be likely over northeast Florida and coastal southeast Georgia today. Locally heavy rainfall will be possible in these areas as a cold front to the north moves into the region.

Forecast Details: surface analysis shows a slow moving cold front across north Alabama and north Georgia. Water vapor satellite loop indicates dry air aloft has reached southern Georgia as upper trough moves off the East Coast. Today's best rain chances will be south of I-10 where locally heavy rainfall will be possible as precipitable waters at or above 2 inches persist. Drier air in middle and upper levels north of I-10 will lower precipitable waters to less than 1.5 near Altamaha River. North-south distribution of probability of precipitation will rule next two days. As the cold front pushes through today the flow will become easterly and persist into next week. GFS model looks overdone with Gulf low and moisture return early next week and will lean towards European model .

Today's Pollen Levels: 0.5 Low (on s a scale to 12); Predominate Pollen: Grass.
