Heat wave will continue through Monday, as upper ridge remains dominant. Showers and thunderstorms in advance of a cold front will approach the region from the northwest Monday night. The cold front will become aligned more parallel to the steering flow, thus the front will struggle to advance through the region on Tuesday and it may stall across the area through mid week. Tuesday continues to shape up as the period with the highest chances for rain. Scattered to numerous thunderstorms can be expected in warm moist unstable atmosphere ahead of slow moving frontal boundary. Destabilization may be limited due to early initiation of thunderstorm activity but deep layer shear should be sufficient enough to support a few severe thunderstorms.

The weather the rest of the week remains somewhat in question and will be largely dependent on how far south the front is able to progress. Latest forecast will reflect a more unsettled weather Pattern with afternoon thunderstorms initiating along sea breeze boundaries each afternoon and early evening. Temperatures will settle back down into the 80s.
