Today: Sunny, with a high near 92. Breezy, with a south wind around 15 mph.
Tonight: Partly cloudy, with a low around 72. Southwest wind between 6 and 9 mph becoming calm.
Today will be even hotter than yesterday as mid level heights continue to increase within strong subtropical ridge over the region. Temperatures will top out in the low to mid 90s, 10 to 15 degrees above normal and just shy of record levels. High humidity levels will accompany the heat as dew points remain near 70. This combination will yield apparent temperatures near 100 degrees. Both east and west coast sea breezes will be on the march again, bringing some relief from the heat. Stronger subsidence aloft will make it difficult for thunderstorms to initiate, but would not be surprised to see one or two pop up late in the day along the East Coast. It will be warm and muggy tonight as temperatures
stay in the 70s.
Today's allergy levels: 5.8/Medium, predominant pollen: Oak, Grass and Hickory/Pecan.
