Hazardous Weather: there is an elevated fire danger over interior north Florida today.
Forecast Details: temperatures have fallen slowly but steadily as colder air trickles into the area. Low clouds continue to linger across the southern counties where temperatures will likely only manage to bottom out in the upper 40s.
High pressure over the Tennessee Valley will shift east to the coasts of the Carolina's by this evening. Winds will veer to the northeast during the day. Clear skies expected most areas with perhaps some scattered stratocumulus clouds over the Atlantic coastal communities late this afternoon. Based on prognosticated low level thicknesses and temperatures, feel that guidance may be a little too cool today. With this in mind, he warm side of guidance was favored. Highs today will range from the upper 50s around to middle to perhaps upper 60s across the southern counties.
With surface ridge positioned just north of the area, conditions will be somewhat favorable for strong radiational cooling tonight. Some middle and high clouds will stream in after midnight as a weak perturbance aloft moves into the area.
