Today: Sunny, with a high near 53. Wind chill values as low as 44. Breezy, with a northwest wind around 15 mph.

Tonight: Patchy frost after 10pm. Otherwise, mostly clear, with a low around 24. Northwest wind between 7 and 10 mph becoming calm.

Hazardous Weather: a cold airmass will settle over the area with a hard freeze expected over inland areas tonight except for a light freeze along the coastal areas. Warnings have been issued for this event.

Wind chill values will fall into the 20s over inland areas tonight and early sunday morning but will fall short of advisory criteria.

Dry air and strong winds may result in dangerous fire weather conditions over northeast Florida.

Forecast Details: .clouds have mostly left the forecast area. Brisk northwest winds continue to usher in much cooler and drier conditions with temperatures at 100 PM EST mainly in the lower 50s across northeast Florida and upper 40s across southeast Georgia. Surface low centered well east of the Savannah continues to deepen with sprawling surface high over the northwest Gulf Coast region. Aloft a long-wave trough is approaching the eastern Seaboard and the passage of this feature will eject Atlantic low northwest.
There are two main concerns through the short-term are freeze events the next couple of nights and the anticipated arrival of vigorous low from the Gulf on Tuesday.

Tonight numerical models continue to advertise a hard freeze for much of the County Warning Area. Will keep hard freeze/freeze warnings as-is with a light freeze confined to St. Johns and Flagler counties although a few coop sites across interior St. Johns County may experience a brief hard freeze. Minimum temperatures between 20 and 25 degrees are forecast for much of the interior. A light freeze is forecast for the immediate coast and near inland waterways .including the St. Johns River and tributaries.

Winds will decrease this evening with loss of daytime heating /mixing/ and winds should sustain below 10 miles per hour overnight. Thus will not issue a Wind Chill Advisory with this package.

Today's Pollen Levels: 5.7 Low Medium (on a scale to 12); Predominate Pollen: Cedar/Juniper, Alder and Elm.
