Today: Sunny, with a high near 63. Wind chill values as low as 35 early. North wind between 6 and 9 mph.

Tonight:  Areas of frost after 1am. Otherwise, mostly clear, with a low around 32. Calm wind.

Hazardous Weather: A cold and dry air mass will persist over the region. Sub-freezing temperatures and widespread frost are expected this morning.

The dry conditions will promote a high fire danger.

Temperatures will drop below freezing again tonight across portions of the Suwanee River Valley.

Forecast Details: A mean layer troughing will persist over the eastern continental U.S. through the forecast period keeping temperatures below climatology values. Today after freezing temperatures and morning frost highs will warm into the low 60s under sunny skies and west-northwest winds as surface high pressure settles over the eastern Gulf of Mexico.

Tonight as the high center positions over central Florida a light northwest drainage flow coupled with dry low level air and good radiational cooling conditions will focus the coldest temperatures over our western Suwanee Valley zones. Opted to issue a freeze watch for these zones but later MOS may trend warmer if low level flow backs more westerly with flow off of the Gulf of Mexico. Areas of frost are likely again tonight west of Highway 301.
