Hazardous Weather: another hard freeze is forecast tonight for much of the interior with record low temperatures possible.
Dry conditions are expected to continue over the area today creating a higher than normal fire danger. A red flag warning is in effect for northeast Florida.
Forecast Details: record breaking cold temperatures occurred overnight at all four of our climate sites with 21in in Gainesville. Will allow the hard freeze warning to expire at 9 am. Temperatures are now rising into the 30s. Winds are picking up and now wind chills are taking effect but with the abundant sunshine and forecast for maximum temperatures in the low/middle 50s this is a big improvement over past two days. Don't put the plants out yet though as temperatures will be dropping back into the 20s again tonight for the interior.
