Today: Mostly sunny, with a high near 63. North wind between 3 and 6 mph.
Tonight: Partly cloudy, with a low around 41. Calm wind becoming south around 5 mph.
Forecast Details: An Inverted trough offshore moves slowly north today. WSR-88D indicating scattered showers offshore the southeast Georgia waters moving north. A few showers may dot the southeast Georgia coast this morning and have put low chance of precipitation there. Will continue to see considerable clouds wrap around the low much of the day, which will begin to break this afternoon as drier air moves into the area. Have taken a blend of the MAV with the cooler MET to account for the cloud cover and went with upper 50s for southeast Georgia to the mid 60s across the far south.
Extensive low cloudiness and some patches of drizzle continue across extreme northeast Florida on the west side of sharp inverted coastal trough. This matches up well with a rather small but strong area of isentropic lift from just above the surface to just beneath a weak but dry subsidence inversion where winds are southwest. Models shift this lift northeast and weaken it through the day and replace it neutral lift or subsidence. Most uncertainty in the short term centers around maximum temperatures today since they are highly dependent on cloud cover.
Today's Pollen Levels: 1.4 Low (on a scale to 12); Predominate Pollen:Juniper.
