A brief period of light sleet will be possible this afternoon and evening as skies become mostly cloudy across the forecast area.
Another hard freeze will be possible late tonight and early Thursday morning over inland areas with light freeze conditions possible along coastal areas. Watches have been posted for all areas.
Forecast Details: Early this morning hard freeze warning conditions under clear skies and light winds with widespread 20s reported over inland areas. Temperatures will continue to fall toward sunrise with even a few upper teens possible over inland areas with patchy frost in some locations. Record lows possible in some areas.
Rest of today a rapid increase in middle/upper level moisture/clouds ahead of approaching shortwave mainly during the afternoon hours. This will keep maximum temperatures a bit below guidance numbers and have nudged them downwards a bit with most locations topping out in the middle/upper 40s. Precipitation chances will remain at 10% or less and some isolated pockets of sleet are not out of the question but not significant enough to place in zone forecast product/grids or severe weather potential statement.
Tonight mid/upper level shortwave/moisture will pass through the forecast area with precipitation chances continuing at 10% or less over the land areas with a few pockets of sleet still possible during the evening hours with partial clearing taking place after midnight. Isolated showers will be possible as north/northeast winds develop over the coastal waters. As far as temperatures go still going to be a tough forecast with maximum temperatures today only in the 40s won't take much clearing to have them falling into the 30s and near freezing and guidance is still bullish on some middle/upper 20s across most of southeastern Georgia and inland northeastern Florida. So overall without much confidence in final low temperature forecast will leave freeze/hard freeze watch in place with this package and let day shift make final decision on warning upgrade and placement.

This morning temperatures will bottom out in the 20 to 25 degree range over inland areas and 25 to 30 degrees along the coast and other inland waterways around sunrise then slowly rise above freezing during the mid-morning hours.
Late tonight and Thursday morning as skies clear during the overnight hours temperatures are expected to fall below freezing with minimum temperatures bottoming out in the 20s by sunrise Thursday morning. Sub-freezing temperatures are possible for at least 4 to8 hours over inland areas and 2 to 4 hours along the coastal areas.
