...More Seasonable Temperatures Expected For The Next Several Days...
Today: Sunny, with a high near 65. Wind chill values as low as 39 early. Calm wind becoming west around 6 mph.
Tonight: Areas of fog after 4am. Otherwise, mostly clear, with a low around 42. Calm wind
Forecast Details: broad upper ridge extends from the extreme west Gulf of Mexico to the North Plains. High cloudiness is streaming over the ridge from the Pacific all the way into southeast Georgia. Large upper low has pushed east of New England. Other than some weak return flow developing over the extreme west portion of the area and the high cloudiness over southeast Georgia and extreme northeast Florida, conditions are nearly ideal for radiational cooling with surface high right on top of us.
A short-lived warming trend will commence today as surface high shifts south and low-level flow becomes southwest ahead of next frontal system. Maximum temperatures will rise to the lower to middle 60s across most of the area this afternoon. High clouds will remain thickest across north zones, but they should be thin enough to have little effect on temperatures. Low temperatures tonight will be 10 to 15 degrees warmer than lows this morning. As a result, no freeze or frost expected. Have included areas of fog over mostly interior northeast Florida.
Cold front will approach the area from the northwest on Wednesday. Models in agreement that silent 10-15% probability of precipitation are in order with some perhaps some sprinkles or very light showers. Maximum temperatures ahead of the front will range from the upper 60s to lower 70s. Behind the front, temperatures will drop back to about 5 degrees below normal.
Today's Pollen Levels: 1.3 Low (on a scale to 12); Predominate Pollen:Juniper
