...Light Freeze This Morning Inland Zones...
...Another Light Freeze Possible Tuesday Morning...

Today: Sunny, with a high near 57. Wind chill values as low as 37 early. North wind between 5 and 8 mph.

Tonight: Areas of frost after 1am. Otherwise, mostly clear, with a low around 31. East wind around 6 mph becoming calm.

Hazardous Weather: a colder air mass will continue over the area this morning. Temperatures around freezing will continue through 10 am. Another night of cold temperatures is on tap with inland areas once again likely below the freezing mark.

Forecast Details: latest MSAS analysis shows high pressure stretching from southern Wisconsin through the Ohio Valley and into the lower Mississippi River Valley. This position is allowing a light cold drainage flow over the area. Only concern for achieving freeze conditions had been if clouds would eventually move out. This has indeed occurred and temperatures have responded accordingly, dipping into the upper 20s over inland areas. Dew point depressions are running only on the order of 1 to 2 degrees and expect areas of frost to be prevalent and will therefore enhance initialized weather grid to reflect this.

A seasonably cool day in store with temperatures only in the middle 50s for most locales under mostly sunny skies. Upstream cirrus does looks to move in per latest satellite pics but expect this to have little impact on anticipated highs.

Tougher call on freeze tonight as high settles right over the region with some indications of an onshore flow developing. Feel winds will decouple more from the marine influences than models indicate with more of a drainage flow expected. Bigger concern will be approaching shortwave energy which looks to increase upper level cloud cover during the overnight hours. Given most of these clouds will arrive late and over the Georgia portion primarily, feel watch is warranted for the Florida inland zones once again.

Benign pattern anticipated for the remainder of the short term period with a warming trend through Wednesday, when highs will break the 70 degree mark over much of the area.

Today's Pollen Levels: 1.1 Low (on a scale to 12); Predominate Pollen:Juniper
