Today: Sunny, with a high near 79. East wind between 5 and 7 mph.

Tonight:  Patchy fog after 1am. Otherwise, mostly clear, with a low around 47. Calm wind.

Hazardous Weather: dry air will continue to produce dangerous fire weather conditions during the afternoon across inland northeast Florida.

Forecast Details:. RUC guidance shows stacked high pressure ridge just west of the County Warning Area moving eastward. A mean trough position is over the western Atlantic near 65w with another trough over The Rockies. Skies are clear in the forecast area and temperatures are in the lower 40s inland near 50 near coastal areas. A very dry airmass continues with precipitable water on 00z JAX sounding at 0.31 inches.

Surface high pressure system located over the local region will fade then rebuild north of the area from the Great Lakes southward to Georgia and Florida as the western Atlantic surface low near 37n-65w moves southeastward. Low level flow today will prevail from the northeast-east at 10 miles per hour or less. Temperatures on Tuesday managed to hit 80 degree in a few areas, which was a few degrees above guidance and so trended towards warmer guidance today. For tonight, not as cool as this morning with lows in the middle 40s inland to lower to middle 50s eastern zones. Some patchy fog is possible over inland sections where atmosphere will be more decoupled.
