Secondary Surge Of Cool Air Next Several Days ...

Today: Sunny, with a high near 74. Northeast wind between 10 and 14 mph

Tonight:   Mostly clear, with a low around 43. North wind between 3 and 6 mph.

Hazardous Weather: dry air will continue to produce dangerous fire weather conditions during the afternoon across extreme inland northeast Florida.

Forecast Details:. latest MSAS analysis shows strong high pressure has built over the northernmost New England states with ridging through the middle Atlantic and into the eastern Carolina s and Georgia. The interaction between this feature and strong low pressure over the west Atlantic, flow has remained elevated over the immediate coasts with gusts to 25 miles per hour at St Augustine. Winds decouple quickly away from the coast however and continue to see some shallow but dense ground fog at times which will be accounted for in initialized grid set. Two different cloud decks are affecting the area with cirrus streaming in off the Gulf and strato-cumulus off the Atlantic. Will cover both of these with increased partly cloudy in grids.

Short term period will be dominated by the presence of aforementioned high pressure system along the East Coast which will gradually build south and weaken through Sunday. Middle and upper ridge which remain just west of the area today will shift east on Saturday and Sunday allowing for highs to warm over inland areas into the middle and perhaps upper 70s. Along the coast northeast flow will keep highs in the lower 70s.

Very dry conditions anticipated above 900 Mb through the short term period allowing for none probability of precipitation across the area. Will need to watch the extreme low levels the next few days for the possible development of a few coastal rain showers which may advect in.

Today's Pollen Levels: 2.6 Low Medium (on a scale to 12); Predominate Pollen:Ragweed
