Hazardous Weather: ...Freeze Warning For The Inland Areas Tonight...
A freeze warning is in effect for the inland areas tonight mainly near the I-75 corridor in northeast Florida and near and west of US 301 in southeast Georgia.
The dry air and breezy conditions will continue to produce dangerous fire weather conditions this afternoon.
Forecast Details:. ...Freeze Warning For The Inland Areas Tonight...
Water vapor imagery and upper air analysis indicating a progressive and amplified pattern across the US. Long wave trough extended from the eastern great lakes to the Gulf of Mexico. A cold Canadian air mass was plunging into the area. The surface high was across eastern Texas providing a cold northwest flow. Temperatures were already dipping below 40 in a few spots and low temperatures this morning are expected to bottom out in the mid 30s inland and lower 40s coast.
Saturday/Sunday night...Continued very cool Saturday under mostly sunny skies. Will see cumulus field form across southeast Georgia this morning which will mix out this afternoon. High temperatures struggle to get to 60 in southeast Georgia and in the mid 60s extreme south. Models indicate gradient begins to relax some during the night especially in inland areas which will help set up a drainage flow and allow low temperatures to fall to freezing across much of the inland areas. Appears we will have durations of 32 degrees or lower for 2 to 3 hours in these areas so have gone with a freeze warning. The warning is mainly near and west of I-75 in Florida and US 301 in Georgia. Emphasis is that this will be a light freeze. Will also have patches of frost even outside of the warning area given the relatively low temperatures /dew point depressions. For the coast and river enough of a gradient and warmer ocean temps to keep those areas well above freezing but the wind will make it feel like the 30s.
Today's Pollen Levels: 3.2 Low Medium (on a scale to 12); Predominate Pollen:Ragweed
