Hazardous Weather: Occasional showers with embedded thunderstorms are expected through the evening hours today. Some the activity will contain locally heavy rainfall at times. Isolated strong thunderstorms may develop across northeast Florida with gusty winds up to 50 mph at times. Storm total rainfall amounts will average between one half and one inch with locally higher amounts possible.
Forecast Details:. Radar indicates a few showers crossing the forecast area as waves of showers precede a Gulf low pressure system currently located over the north/central Gulf. The low is beginning to open and is expected to become absorbed in the upper trough late today. Considerable clouds and deep moisture will affect the area today. MSAS analysis shows warm front extending from Apalachee Bay to across southeast Georgia. Area north of the boundary continues to be plagued by dense fog and with high clouds blocking solar rays, the fog could easily stick around until late morning. Warm sector will experience bulk of precipitation and think it will be around noon before significant precipitation moves into the area.
