Hazardous Weather: embedded thunderstorms will be possible across portions of northeast Florida within the increasing shower activity this afternoon and tonight and this will provide the focus for locally heavy rainfall at times.
Forecast Details:. Today a stationary front along the Florida/Georgia border that brought some localized heavy rains to the jax metropolitan area last evening is slowly pulling northward and will continue to do so today. Scattered showers will continue to be possible across southeastern Georgia this morning with mainly isolated activity across northeastern Florida. More significant shortwave will begin to eject out of the Gulf of Mexico toward the region with scattered showers expected area wide this afternoon along with isolated thunderstorm activity in the warm sector across northestern Florida, where maximum temperatures will reach the upper 70s and lower 80s while maximum temperatures will remain closer to 70 degrees along frontal boundary across southeastern Georgia.
Tonight rain chances will continue to increase with scattered to numerous showers and embedded thunderstorms across northeastern Florida in the warm sector. Mild overnight lows in the upper 50s into the 60s.
