Above Normal Rain Chances Tuesday-Thursday Bring Hope Of Ending Dry Spell At Gainesville ...

Today: Mostly sunny, with a high near 83. Calm wind becoming north around 5 mph.

Tonight: Partly cloudy, with a low around 57. Light east wind

Forecast Details:. surface high pressure over the Great Lakes was building east-southeast this morning. This will shift a backdoor cold front over northern South Carolina southward with a cooler north-northeast flow expected across eastern zones this afternoon. Skies will become partly cloudy as shallow moisture increases with the front. Maximum temperatures expected to rise into the low/middle 80s inland upper 70s coast.

Tonight deep troughing digs across the central Continental U.S. with southwest flow developing over the southeast region. At the surface a high pressure wedge is expected down the Lee of the Appalachians into Georgia with a coastal trough expected to form offshore of the Georgia/Florida East Coast. Increased dynamics aloft and coastal convergence will bring a low chance of coastal rain showers Tuesday morning which will translate west-southwest across the remainder of the County Warning Area into the afternoon.

Today's Pollen Levels: 4.2 Low Medium (on a scale to 12); Predominate Pollen:Ragweed.
