Today: A 20 % chance of showers and thunderstorms after 2pm. Patchy fog before 8am. Otherwise, partly sunny, with a high near 88. Calm wind becoming south between 11 and 14 mph. Winds could gust as high as 24 mph.


Tonight: A 20 % chance of showers and thunderstorms before 2am. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 66. Southwest wind around 6 mph becoming calm. 


Hazardous weather: Isolated to scattered thunderstorms will be possible this afternoon and evening. any storms that develop will move toward the northeast.


Areas of fog will be possible late tonight over inland areas with locally dense fog in some areas.

Forecast Details: satellite imagery shows shortwave has advanced offshore and radar shows storms are at the outer limits of our coastal waters. Stratus clouds are filling in over land and limiting fog development. Patchy dense fog is reported north of the Altamaha river and expect similar conditions to spread into the northern zones in next couple hours.


Summer like pattern with near record warmth will continue next couple days as Bermuda high ridge axis is parked over area. Temperatures will be around 10 degree above climatology today through Thursday morning. South to southwesterly flow at low/middle levels will keep adequate moisture levels for a low chance of diurnal thunderstorms and also nightly patchy dense fog.
