Hazardous Weather Outlook: drier air filtering into the region will enhance the fire danger. A Red Flag Warning is in effect for northeast Florida.
Forecast Details: low pressure center well offshore will continue to pull away today and cooler and drier northerly flow overspreading the region. Expect mostly sunny skies and maximum temperatures generally in the lower 80s. North winds will increase to 10 to 15 miles per hour with gusts to 20 miles per hour at times just a bit below breezy levels. Mostly clear skies and much cooler air filtering into the region will allow for lows in the upper 40s and lower 50s over inland areas, the coolest night since late April.

On this date in 2000, a non-tropical system developed over South Florida and dumped 15 inches of rain over a 33-hour period. Thousands of houses received flood damage and lost power. The system eventually moved away from Florida and then became Tropical Storm Leslie on the 4th.
