Forecast Details: Water vapor imagery shows shortwave trough moving into the southeast U.S. with strong subsidence now over north/central Georgia and deeper moisture over the forecast area. Satellite derived precipitable waters are around 2 inches but JAX 12 soundings have precipitable water of 2.25 inches. Cold front just north of forecast area will push into the area during the day coinciding with daytime heating, maximum instability and sea breeze to produce good chance for storm activity. Morning soundings indicate convective available potential energy in 3000 to 4000 j/kg range which is higher than models prognosticated. Thus a few storms may produce strong gusty winds. Best coverage is expected along state line and I-10 corridor south to Gainesville area.
