Today: Partly cloudy with a 20 % chance of showers. Highs around 90. Northeast winds 10 to 15 mph.

Tonight: Mostly sunny. Highs in the lower 90s. Northeast winds 5 to 10 mph.

Forecast Details: northeasterly surge has worked down the coast since last night with gusty winds noted in the marine area and along the coast. Low level convergence and instability over the coastal waters has resulted in isolated to scattered shower activity mainly over the northeast Florida coastal waters. Activity is pushing southwestward around 15 miles per hour. JAX 7 am sounding shows precipitable water a little lower near 1.4 inches and stronger mean 0-6km northeast wind near 17 knots. Conditions are moist below inversion which looks to be around 750 MB. Much drier air above 750 MB will likely inhibit thunderstorms. Aloft upper level trough has pushed offshore and middle level high is over northern Georgia. Hurricane Igor is closing in on Bermuda moving northward about 13 miles per hour and is roughly 965 miles east of Mayport.

For rest of today Hurricane Igor will continue moving northward and high pressure will build southward and help to weaken the pressure gradient a bit. Breezy winds will be felt along coastal areas rest of today though with gusts to 25 miles per hour or slightly higher. Will maintain isolated to scattered shower activity through the early afternoon then models indicate drier low level air infiltrating the region after 1 pm. For the zone forecast product update little change. Will tweak winds to breezy for Duval/Nassau and nudge temperatures up well inland and lower about 1 degree near the coast due to breezy conditions.

Today's Pollen Levels: 9.3 Medium High (on a scale to 12); Predominate Pollen: Ragweed, Grass and Chenopods.
