Today: Partly cloudy with chance of showers in the morning then mostly cloudy with chance of showers and slight chance of thunderstorms in the afternoon. Highs in the lower 90s. Southeast winds 10 to 15 mph. Chance of rain 50 % Heat index readings 99 to 103.

Tonight: Partly cloudy. A 20 % chance of showers and thunderstorms in the evening. Lows in the mid 70s. Southeast winds 5 to 10 mph.

Isolated thunderstorms will be possible this afternoon. Severe weather is not anticipated.

Heat index values as high as 105 degrees are forecast this afternoon.

Forecast Details: Tropical Depression Five is currently centered several hundred miles south of Apalachicola Florida. This feature is fairly broad with cyclonic flow extending as far northeast as the local County Warning Area. Weak lobes of vorticity maxima are rotating northwest across the local area accompanied by cumulus clouds and a few coastal showers.

Today Tropical Depression Five is forecast to strengthen into Tropical Storm Danielle while tracking northwest across the Gulf of Mexico. A deep southeast flow regime will likely maintain precipitable waters above 2 inches. Have included chance/likely probability of precipitation with the highest probability of precipitation reserved for the I-75 corridor. Slightly warmer temperatures are forecast with afternoon highs in the lower to middle 90s as mean layer flow veers from the southeast to south late in the day.

Tonight bulk of showers and storms will likely focus west of the County Warning Area although there will be some lingering activity through midnight. Lows are forecast in the middle 70s.

Today's Pollen Levels: 7.4 Medium High (on a scale to 12); Predominate Pollen: Grass and chenopods.
