Tonight: Partly cloudy. A 20 % chance of showers and thunderstorms in the evening. Lows in the lower 70s. Southeast winds 5 to 10 mph.
Isolated showers and possibly a few thunderstorms are expected to move inland across coastal northeast Florida this morning. convection will move west and by afternoon scattered showers and storms are possible across the Suwannee River valley of north Florida storm motion will be northward at 10 knots or less. gusty winds are possible in the strongest storms.
Forecast Details: radar shows rain showers edging northward offshore of the cape this hour in advance of a tropical wave approaching South Florida. Leaned toward the SREF and GFS which advertise a low chance of convection moving inland this morning across coastal northeast Florida then precipitation chances increasing this afternoon over the Suwannee River valley and I-75 corridor where weak positive vorticity advection and high moisture values may coincide to enhance sea breeze thunderstorms and rain. The main convective concern will be gusty winds.
