Today's WX Outlook...

Today: Mostly sunny. Highs in the mid 90s. Northeast winds 5 mph.

Tonight: Mostly clear. Lows in the lower 70s. Southwest winds 5 mph.

Hot temperatures are forecast with maximum temperatures expected to range from the lower to mid 90s at the coast to the upper 90s across the interior. If you plan to be outside, avoid prolonged exposure or strenuous physical activity. drink plenty of fluids to avoid dehydration.

Forecast Details: the interaction of a strong anticyclone positioning over the Gulf Coast region and a stacked low off the Carolina coastline will present hot temperatures today and Friday. Maximum temperatures are forecast to reach the upper 90s inland with low to middle 90s at the coast. The presence of a very dry air mass will keep heat index close to actual temperatures today with heat index likely to climb above the century mark on Friday due to some moistening of the atmosphere. A late afternoon thunderstorm will be possible across interior southeast Georgia on Friday, otherwise dry conditions are forecast today and Friday.
