The strong 500mb subtropical high responsible for this ongoing heat wave will begin to break down tonight as a potent upstream trough swings out of Texas and towards the lower Mississippi valley. This activity will then slowly advance through our area through Tuesday evening, with Tuesday the most likely timeframe for greatest coverage of showers and thunderstorms.
