Alachua Harvest Festival: The 8th annual event will be held from 11 am. to 5 pm. Sunday on Main Street in Alachua, north of Gainesville on U.S. 441. There will be 150 vendors offering fine arts, fine crafts, plants and trees, jewelry, gift baskets, home-improvement items and more. There will be children's activities, and entertainment will be provided by the Andrews Family Band of Lake City, Orlando's Most Wanted Dance Team and others. (514-1258)
Newberry Fall Festival: The 4th annual festival will be held from 9 am. to 4 pm. October. 23 along Seaboard Road in Newberry, located on Newberry Road west of Gainesville. Visitors will enjoy arts and crafts, a barbecue cookoff, children's activities, a health fair, live entertainment, a farmer's market and more. Last year, 5,000 attended the event. (594-5360)
1890s Day Fall Festival: It will be held from 8 am. to 5 pm. October. 23. McIntosh is located on U.S. 441 south of Gainesville in Marion County. There will be 250 vendors offering a cornucopia of original arts and crafts, children's activities, food vendors and more. www.townofmcintosh.org
Micanopy Fall Harvest Festival: The 36th annual event will be held from 9 am. to 5 pm. October. 30 and 9 am. to 4 pm. the 31st in downtown Micanopy, located off U.S. 441 just south of Gainesville. On Saturday afternoon, there will be an old-time auction with items donated by participating vendors. There will be 200 vendors offering original arts and crafts, live music, children's activities, food and more. www.micanopyfall festival.org
