Since 1972, Father John Gillespie has moved around the state pastoring Catholic parishes in the Diocese of St. Augustine. Then in June 1981, he landed in Gainesville.

That year he was appointed pastor of St. Augustine Church and Catholic Student Center. Now, after nearly 30 years as a respected spiritual leader and dedicated advocate for the homeless and less fortunate, Gillespie is saying goodbye to the parish and the Gainesville community.(more)
