The “18th century rock band” Mannheim Steamroller offers an early start on the holiday-music season when the group’s 25th Christmas Anniversary Tour stops at the Phillips Center for a concert on Thursday.

The Gainesville Community Band performs a musical salute to veterans with its annual James King Veterans Day Concert on Friday at the Phillips Center.

The debut Tioga JazzFest on Sunday will feature smooth-jazz saxophonist Jessy J along with Tampa guitarist Nate Najar, and Gainesville’s Richy Stano and Mindwalk at the Tioga Town Center Square. Food and beverage vendors will be available at the gate; bring lawn chairs and blankets.

The Gainesville Community Playhouse eases on down the road with “The Wiz,” the Tony Award-winning retelling of “The Wizard of Oz,” with performances running Wednesdays through Sundays, through Nov. 21.
