...THUNDERSTORMS POSSIBLE TODAY...
Today: Partly cloudy. A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon. Highs in the mid 90s. East winds 10 to 15 mph.
Tonight: Partly cloudy in the evening then becoming mostly clear. Lows in the lower 70s. Southeast winds 5 to 10 mph.
Scattered to isolated thunderstorms are possible near the I-75 corridor late this afternoon and evening. Storms will move northwest around 10 to 15 mph. the strongest storms will produce gusty winds.
Forecast Details: high pressure ridge at surface and aloft over forecast area. Just some high thin clouds through middle morning but will see cumulus develop across area toward midday. East Coast sea breeze will move well inland early this afternoon meeting up with West Coast sea breeze vicinity I-75 late in the day. Soundings a little drier today...and with weak subsidence associated with upper ridge, don't anticipate more than isolated afternoon rain showers/thunderstorms and rain mainly I-75 westward. Soundings also suggest current high temperature forecast on track. Slightly drier air aloft may mix down resulting in afternoon surface dew points in upper 60s rather than middle 70s that would reduce heat index values somewhat ( 98 vs around
105).
Today's Pollen Levels: 3.6 Low Medium (on s a scale to 12); Predominate Pollen: Grass, Chenopods & Nettle.
