Way To Go Governor...

Well our Senator wannabe Governor Charlie Crist thinks figures he can make some points with voters by over riding the Legislature. Well me thinks you picked the wrong folks to carry your message Charlie. Read more here..

Shands tries to fill $9.7M hole
Hospital officials are trying to figure out what the veto will mean for the uninsured and the underinsured.

By Diane Chun
Staff writer

On the first business day after Gov. Charlie Crist vetoed nearly $9.7 million in funds for Shands at the University of Florida, hospital and university officials are already trying to decide how the safety-net hospital can continue to meet the needs of uninsured or underinsured patients…(more)

This hits real close to home for me, my wife is a finical representative at Shands Pediatric Rehab. Today she must tell in excess of 50 families the essential therapy they need for there child is no longer covered by Shands or Children's Medical Services. These aren't kids with a sprained ankle either.. These are major livelong crippling, even life-threatening conditions. These are families that have used there rehab and major medical coverage to the max and have already been nearly bankrupted by out of pocket expenses long ago or they wouldn't be eligible for assistance…

These folks are busy taking care of their kids so the aren't politically active, so it's time for us to step up to the plate and be there for them. Please call, write, even e-mail the governor and let him know he made a mistake and he needs to man up and fix it if he ever wants a chance for your vote for that Senate seat he so covets…
