Israel Independence Day



April 20, 2010, is Yom Ha’atzmaut, Israel Independence Day, the day in the Hebrew calendar that corresponds to May 14, 1948. This is their 62nd. It fittingly begins the moment that ends Israel’s Memorial Day, Yom Hazikaron, Remembrance Day for Israel’s Fallen Soldiers and Victims of Terror. This is also the day the Jews of the Warsaw Ghetto began the uprising against the Nazi in 1943. Happy Birthday Israel, may you remain free and independent and find a just peace…
