The public is invited to attend and participate in the second community workshop hosted by the Alachua County Growth Management Department to discuss an Eastside Community Redevelopment Area (CRA).  The focus of this workshop is the unincorporated portion of Alachua County, east of the Gainesville City limits to Newnan’s Lake.  The workshop takes place on Thursday, February 17, 2011 at 5:30 pm at Compassionate Outreach Ministries’ Fellowship Hall, 320 SE 43rd Street, Alachua County.

A CRA is a defined sub-area of a city or county where revitalization and economic development is promoted through investments in community improvements, which foster job creation and income growth.

Community input is critical for a successful CRA planning process.  A brief summary of community assets and needs identified at the first meeting will be provided.

For more information, contact Michael Castine, Planner in the Alachua County Department of Growth Management at 352-374-5249 or
