Today: Partly sunny, with a high near 56. Breezy, with a east wind around 15 mph.

Tonight:A 30 % chance of rain after 1am. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 44. East wind between 7 and 10 mph.

Hazardous Weather: tonight...a warm front will position across the area as low pressure approaches from the Gulf Of Mexico. Periods of moderate rainfall will begin to impact southeast Georgia after midnight.

Forecast Details: temperatures are slowly rising from a freeze this morning as middle and high clouds stream in over the area from the west. Upper 20s to lower 30s reported in northeast Florida. Wind Chill Advisory was expired at 9 am as wind chills were in the upper 20s to lower 30s...above local criteria.

Surface high pressure ridge is fairly strong over Tennessee Valley area at 1030 mb with a northeasterly flow that is rather robust over the nearshore and offshore coastal waters. Quite the temperature and dewpoint gradient as well at this time due to the northeasterly flow...with temperatures around freezing over inland southeast Georgia and upper 40s near the northeast Florida coast at 9 am.

The cold airmass and the increasing middle and high clouds will keep temperatures down significantly from normal. Tweaked highs down a notch based on sounding which indicated a 5-10 degree cooling below 850 mb from yesterday. Also likely to see scattered stratocumulus develop as the northeast flow just above the surface veers to easterly in the afternoon...and in fact would not discount a stray light rain shower over the coastal waters/coastal zones late in the afternoon south of Jacksonville beach.

Today's Pollen Levels: 4.3 Low Medium(on a scale to 12); Predominate Pollen: Cedar/Juniper
