On Thursday, Jan. 13, 2011, from 4 to 5 p.m., the City of Gainesville Department of Parks, Recreation and Cultural Affairs would like to invite its friends and neighbors to the dedication and ribbon cutting of one of Gainesville's bustling parks - Possum Creek Park, which is located at 4009 NW 53rd Ave. This park first opened in April 2010, meeting a grant deadline of the Florida Recreation Development Assistance Program Grant, and is now complete with nature trails, wonderful shade structures and a new boardwalk.
Join us as demonstrations of talented skate boarders, BMX riders and more will astound you! A raffle with prizes and giveaways, sponsored by FreeRide Skate Shop, will follow the ribbon cutting ceremony and demonstrations.
This park was partially funded by the City of Gainesville Capital Improvement Recreation Bond, the Florida Department of Environmental Protection Florida Recreation Development Assistance Program Grant and Wild Spaces-Public Places.
