Forecast Details: mean troughing will dominate the eastern Continental U.S. today and Saturday.  Partly cloudy, with a low around 43. West wind between 9 and 13 mph. with cooler and dry air over the local area. Sunny skies are expected for the first part of today as temperatures warm into the low 60s. This afternoon middle/low clouds will increase from the north as a fast moving clipper low tracks toward Virginia and trails a surface trough into the deep south. Moisture and forcing will be lacking along the boundary, but a tightening pressure gradient in front of the approaching trough will bring borderline Lake Wind Advisory conditions to our County Warning Area this afternoon with sustained speeds near 20 miles per hour across most zones and gusts in the 25-30 miles per hour. As the boundary presses south of the County Warning Area tonight breezy west-northwest flow will continue as mins fall into the middle 30s inland Georgia to middle 40s across our South Florida zones.

... Red Flag Warning In Effect From Noon Today To 6 PM EST This Evening Due To Strong Winds And Marginally Low Relative Humidity Values...

The National Weather Service in Jacksonville has issued a Red Flag Warning, which is in effect from noon today to 6 PM EST this evening. A Fire Weather Watch has also been issued. This Fire Weather Watch is in effect Saturday afternoon.

This afternoon the combination of breezy west to southwest winds and relative humidity bottoming out around 35 % will set the stage for dangerous fire weather conditions at times. Thus a Red Flag Warning has been issued for all of northeast Florida. West to southwest winds will increase to 15 to 20 mph with gusts to 25 mph at times.
