Breezy And Cool Next Couple Days ...

Today: Mostly sunny, with a high near 61. Breezy, with a west wind between 9 and 15 mph.

Tonight: Mostly clear, with a low around 35. West wind between 7 and 9 mph.

Forecast Details: MSAS analysis shows surface low over the Atlantic with cold front extending across northeast Florida to a low in Apalachee Bay. A 130,000 ft upper jet is pushing into North Florida and water vapor imagery shows a dry slot now over southeast Georgia and Suwannee Valley. Band of rain is over the southern tier with a few straggling showers north into Jacksonville. Although activity should clear the forecast area by 7 pm will keep a low chance of rain(less than 20%) in the far south portion for morning hours. The upper trough will swing deep into south Florida today before sliding east. The surface low will deepen as it moves northeast while high pressure builds to our west. Westerly winds will increase to 15 to 20 miles per hour by afternoon. Another strong upper jet will dive toward the area tonight and Friday pushing a dry reinforcing cold front through on Friday. Pressure gradient is forecast to strengthen producing winds up to 25-30 miles per hour and a lake wind advection is possible for Friday.

Temperatures will continue to be a little below normal through Saturday with highs in the middle 50s to middle 60s and lows in the 30s/lower 40s. Do not expect a freeze event at this time although normally colder locations in the Suwannee Valley may dip below freezing tonight.
