.Cold Weather To Remain In Place Through The Entire Week...

Today:  Sunny, with a high near 47. Wind chill values as low as 26 early. Northwest wind between 11 and 13 mph.

Tonight: Patchy frost after 4am. Otherwise, mostly clear, with a low around 23. Wind chill values as low as 16. North wind around 8 mph.

Hazardous Weather: a cold airmass moving into the region this morning will allow for temperatures to fall near 30 degrees over inland areas. This will combine with northwest winds around 10 mph to produce wind chill values in the 20 to 25 degree range through the morning hours.

A drier airmass and gusty northwest winds will set the stage for dangerous fire weather conditions this afternoon.

A hard freeze is expected across all areas tonight with minimum temperatures falling into the lower to mid 20s...except upper 20s along the coast. Wind chill values will fall into the teens and a wind chill advisory may be required.

Forecast Details: drier northwest flow has quickly scoured out low clouds and skies have quickly become mostly clear with surface winds increasing to 10 to 15 miles per hour and temperatures holding in the 30s. With wind increasing this morning...will be very hard for freeze warning to verify...but with plentiful lower to middle 30s around will hold on to it with the morning package. Wind Chill Advisory looks like a good call across northeastern Florida as winds continue to increase through the morning hours.

Today...mostly sunny and cold with a biting northwest wind at 15 to 20 miles per hour with gusts to 25 miles per hour at time. Maximum temperatures will struggle back into the 40s under strong cold air advection pattern.

Tonight...strong cold air advection will be ongoing but weaken somewhat overnight and this will make for a tough and challenging min temperature forecast. Still too much wind to expect middle/upper teens suggested by GFS MOS and have gone with mainly middle 20s across all inland areas. Confidence grids are suggesting 100% chance of a hard freeze over inland northeastern Florida and generally 50-70% confidence in a hard freeze along the I-95 corridor and St Johns River basin and this is high enough to upgrade hard freeze watch to a warning for all of the forecast area. Day shift will likely need to re-issue wind chill advisories as index will fall into the teens once again overnight.

Today's Pollen Levels: 4.7Low Medium (on a scale to 12); Predominate Pollen: Cedar/Juniper
