Today: Sunny, with a high near 47. Wind chill values as low as 38 early. North wind around 9 mph.
Tonight: Areas of frost after 1am. Otherwise, mostly clear, with a low around 22. Light north wind.
Hazardous Weather: the very cold airmass will remain in place with another night of long durations of sub-freezing temperatures. Lows will range from the upper teens to lower 20s inland to the mid to upper 20s along the coastal counties. A hard freeze warning is in effect for most locations. Areas of frost can be expected as well.
The dry airmass in place will set the stage for dangerous fire weather conditions this afternoon across inland areas.
Forecast Details: Freezing conditions will likely continue beyond expiration time as temperatures slowly rise. Current temperatures are in upper 20s 28-32 degree across northeast Florida. Highs will reach 45 to 50 degree this afternoon. Skies are clear except for strato-cumulus off the coast. KJAX sounding shows a huge dry inversion to near 700 mb and even with a low level northeast flow...any maritime clouds will dissipated before reaching land.

Another hard freeze is expected tonight and Friday morning with temperatures bottoming out in the lower to mid 20s over inland areas with durations of 6 to 10 hours of below freezing temperatures possible.

The National Weather Service in Jacksonville has issued a red flag warning remains in effect from noon today to 6 PM EST this evening.
A cold and dry air mass will be established over the area and relative humidity are forecast to fall below 35 % for 5 to 6 hours and bottom out at 25 to 30 %.
