Theater
The new show “GI Holiday Jukebox recreates a USO-style holiday performance during World War II at the Gainesville Community Playhouse. The production opens Thursday and will run through Dec. 19.

Music

Acoustic guitarist extraordinaire Sam Pacetti returns to Gainesville on Friday for a performance at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship, hosted by the Civic Media Center.

Two Gainesville bands known for their takes on retro-rock sounds, the Imposters and the Relics, are teaming up for Saturday’s performance homage to John Lennon, marking the 30th anniversary of his death (on Dec. 8, 1980). The concert, dubbed “Working Class Heroes,” will be at the Unified Traning Center, 809 W. University Ave.

Dance

Also Saturday, Danscompany’s full-length ballet “Cinderella celebrates the holidays with two performances Saturday at the Phillips Center as part of a tradition dating back to 1993.
Cinderella”: 2 and 7:30 pm Saturday, Phillips Center. Tickets: $12; free for children under 10 with a new unwrapped toy or book if seats are available.
