Hard Freezes Inland Through Wednesday Night ...


Today: Sunny, with a high near 52. Wind chill values as low as 28 early. Breezy, with a northwest wind between 10 and 15 mph. 


Tonight: Clear, with a low around 22. Northwest wind around 8 mph. 


Hazardous Weather: freezing temperatures this morning will rebound after sunrise. A freeze warning is in effect for most inland areas through 9 am.


Winds around 10 mph coupled with freezing temperatures will produce wind chills in the low to mid 20s.


Temperatures will crash after sunset tonight with widespread freezing temperatures by midnight. A hard freeze warning has been issued for all inland locations tonight. 

Forecast Details: mean layer troughing will dominate the eastern Continental U.S. through Thursday which will keep a deep layer,s northwest trajectory of cold and dry Canadian air over the deep south. Maximum temperatures in the low/middle 50s over northeast Florida.


Lows will crash below hard freeze criteria beginning tonight and have upgraded the hard freeze watch to a warning for all counties.  Frost will not be a concern tonight due to elevated winds of 5-10 miles per hour with wind chills into the teen's daybreak Tuesday.

The National Weather Service in Jacksonville has issued a Hard Freeze Warning which is in effect from 9 PM this evening to 9 AM EST Tuesday. A freeze warning remains in effect until 9 am EST this morning.

Temperatures are expected to drop below freezing for 4 to 6 hours this morning.

Tonight temperatures will fall quickly after sunset with values below freezing before midnight. Minimum values will fall into the lower 20s inland with upper 30s along coastal areas. Sub-freezing temperatures are expected for 10 to 12 hours tonight. A Hard Freeze Warning is in effect. 


... Red Flag Warning Remains In Effect From 11 AM This Morning To 6 PM EST This Evening Due To Winds And Low Relative Humidity ... 

The National Weather Service in Jacksonville has issued a Red Flag Warning EST in effect from 11 AM this morning to 6 PM EST this evening.

A dry air mass in place will support relative humidity bottoming out around 25 %. Durations of up to 5 to 7 hours of critical relative humidity will be possible. Northwest winds will approach critical levels at 10 to 15 mph with gusts to 20 mph at times.
