Today:  Mostly sunny, with a high near 81. Calm wind becoming east around 6 mph.

Tonight: Areas of fog after 1am. Otherwise, partly cloudy, with a low around 54. East wind around 5 mph becoming calm.

Forecast Details:. A surface frontal boundary currently extends across central Georgia with a broad area of high pressure across the local forecast area. A large, dense fog bank originating over The Big Bend region of North Florida has been progressing eastward the last several hours. Satellite imagery indicates this fog bank has entered some of our interior counties, especially the Suwannee Valley in North Florida. For the remainder of tonight, aforementioned fog bank will steadily advance east, possibly reaching U.S. 301 in northeast Florida towards sunrise. Satellite imagery also shows extensive middle level clouds reaching our northern-most counties in southeast Georgia.

Frontal boundary is forecast to become diffuse today, possibly reaching southeast Georgia before doing so. A few showers will be possible across southeast Georgia, mainly north of U.S. 82 while northeast Florida remains dry. Otherwise, the main story will remain the very warm temperatures as a deep layer ridge holds over the region. Temperatures are again forecast to climb into the upper 70s with possible lower 80s along the I-75 corridor.
