Two liger cubs are moving into a Miami animal exhibit where a grown tiger escaped, apparently in pursuit of a loose ape

Jungle Island says its Tiger/Liger exhibit will temporarily reopen Saturday with the 9-month-old cubs Malinka and Leloo. Ligers are the offspring of a male lion and a tigress.

Last weekend, hundreds of visitors and staff scrambled for safety after a 3-year-old Bengal tiger named Mahesh somehow scaled a 14-foot fence, possibly to chase an ape that also somehow got out of its habitat. No one was injured by the animals.

The tiger and two other big cats are being confined while the escape is investigated.

Park officials say the cubs will be accompanied by their trainers throughout the weekend.
