Today: Partly cloudy. Highs in the mid 90s. Southwest winds 5 to 10 mph.
Tonight: Partly cloudy. Lows in the upper 60s. Southwest winds 5 to 10 mph
Hazardous Weather Outlook: drier air filtering into the area will create an elevated fire danger this afternoon across the I-10 corridor.
Forecast Details: latest msas analysis of the southeast shows Hurricane Earl just off the North Carolina coast at this hour. Pressure pattern locally becoming weaker as we remain between major systems. Although resultant winds are light, drier air has been drawn in on the west side of Earl and therefore only expect patchy fog tonight. Otherwise expect tranquil conditions to continue for the remainder of the overnight period with just some increase in cirrus over southern portions toward daybreak.
For today models in good agreement with respect to low pressure in the west central Gulf and associated trough axis extending eastward. Although moisture will be increasing with these features isentropic ascent on the northern side of trough is largely absent during the day. In addition shortwave energy will be weak as it moves across southern sections this afternoon. Will highlight an increase in mainly high level cloudiness but keep probability of precipitation 15% or less for the southern zones.
After todays much above normal temperatures in the middle 90s inland we should see some relief with highs close to normal for the remainder of the short term with developing eastern trough.
Today's Pollen Levels: 8.7 Medium High (on a scale to 12); Predominate Pollen: Ragweed, Grass and Chenopods.

Fire weather: have gone ahead and issued a marginal Red Flag Warning the north tier of Florida counties. With hot temperatures and dry air mixing to the surface, along with minimal high clouds until late and no seabreezes reaching the warning area, feel it is best to err on the side of caution.
