Today: Partly cloudy and breezy. Highs in the lower 90s. Northeast winds 15 to 20 mph with gusts to 25 mph

Tonight: Partly cloudy in the evening then clearing. Lows in the upper 60s. North winds 5 to 10 mph.

Forecast Details: stacked high pressure continues over central over western South Carolina and North Carolina. The 06z JAX sounding shows precipitable water of 1.37 inches with strong inversions at 875 mb and 700 mb. Deep eaterly flow indicated as well up to 500 mb. 0-6km flow is 080 degree at 21 knots. Quite a bit of moisture is under the lower level inversion and feel there will be a pretty good bet of seeing scattered cumulus today even broken at times over northeast Florida. Aloft yesterday's upper low over Alabama has now shifted southward to near southeast la and high clouds are beginning to thin even more for us. Meanwhile stronger subsidence is now entering our northeast zones as powerful Hurricane Earl is churning over the western Atlantic with position near 23.5 north at 70.7west at 06z moving northwest at 15 miles per hour.

As Earl heads northwest then northward through next 24-36 hours pressure gradient will continue to tighten. Mean relative humidity values remain low though cannot rule out a few light showers in small convergent bands today and tonight...mainly over the marine zones but some to affect the northeast Florida coast. By early Friday Earl will head northward then northeast away from the area with transition to more westerly flow and still a fairly dry airmass over the area.

For today northeast winds are expected to increase to 15-20 miles per hour with gusts near 30 miles per hour along the coast. Will therefore go with a Lake Wind Advisory for coastal northeast Florida and indicate gusts to 25 miles per hour rest of zones based on 06z sounding winds and good boundary layer mixing. Highs in the upper 80s to near 90. May play any mention of precipitation with just sprinkles along the coast.

Tonight lows in the upper 60s to lower 70s expected with mostly clear to partly cloudy skies. Again some very low chance for showers tonight and will probably mention sprinkles for coastal zones. Breezy winds may affect the immediate coast.

Today's Pollen Levels: 8.8 Medium High (on a scale to 12); Predominate Pollen: Ragweed, Grass and Chenopods.
