..INCREASING PRECIPITATION CHANCES THROUGH MONDAY..

Today: A 40 % chance of showers and thunderstorms. Partly sunny, with a high near 90. East wind between 8 and 11 mph.

Tonight: A slight chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 70. East wind around 6 mph becoming calm. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Forecast Details: Mean layer 1000-700 MB ridge center will gradually shift farther offshore of the middle-Atlantic Seaboard which will bring southeast flow and a surge of moisture northward from South Florida through the weekend. Increased moisture content, weak vorticity maxima aloft and surface convergence will gradually phase across the area from south-north through Monday with probability of precipitation indicating this trend.
Today coastal rain showers will continue to move inland this morning with MSAS analysis showing a coastal trough well offshore. Convection will progress inland through the day with isolated ts possible by afternoon. Model soundings show cooling in the middle levels as a spoke of energy on the east side of an upper low over the central Gulf of Mexico rotate north-northeast today. As surface dew points rise from the south today and these factors yield convective available potential energy 2 j/kg, sufficient for isolated ts. Temperatures are expected to rise into the lower 90s well inland, but if enough cloud cover can creep up from the south, these values may be too high.

Today's Pollen Levels: 8.5 Medium High (on a scale to 12); Predominate Pollen: Ragweed, Grass and Chenopods.
