Today: A 20 % chance of showers and thunderstorms after 2pm. Partly sunny, with a high near 90. East wind between 5 and 14 mph.
Tonight: A 10 % chance of showers and thunderstorms before 8pm. Patchy fog after 2am. Otherwise, partly cloudy, with a low around 70. East wind between 6 and 9 mph becoming calm.
Forecast Details. Persistent high pressure ridge is north of the area with a surface high centered along Carolina coast. Isolated showers have developed over the waters in moderate low level easterly flow. These rain showers are dissipating soon after coming onshore. Higher moisture levels over central Florida will push north today. NAM brings precipitable waters of 1.9 inches to the Florida/Georgia line. Due to proximity of upper high, will stick closer to GFS/European model (ECMWF) with deeper moisture confined to southern tier and go with isolated thunderstorms and rain over southern portion.
Tonight persistent onshore flow will once again bring scattered showers over the waters toward the coast with low end probability of precipitation for coastal zones.
