..RECORD STREAK OF 90+ DEGREE CONSECUTIVE DAYS EXPECTED TO CONTINUE...

Today: Partly cloudy with chance of showers and thunderstorms in the morning then mostly cloudy with showers and thunderstorms likely in the afternoon. Highs in the mid 90s. West winds 5 to 10 mph. Chance of rain 70 %. Heat index readings 103 to 107.

Tonight: Mostly cloudy with a 40 % chance of showers and thunderstorms in the evening then partly cloudy after midnight. Lows in the mid 70s. Southwest winds 5 mph.

Patchy fog is expected this morning. visibilities will be lowest where heavy rainfall recently occurred.

Numerous showers and thunderstorms are expected inland today as an upper level disturbance approaches and a surface front positions across south Georgia. These mechanisms along with the sea breezes and outflows will bring increasing rain chances to inland areas through the day. Storm motion will be slow and to the south so periods of heavy rainfall will be possible.

Heat indices around 105 to 110 degrees will be possible this afternoon.

Forecast Details: a long wave upper level trough will deepen over the eastern Continental U.S. As a surface trough sags southward and lingers across the deep south today and Monday. Satellite imagery shows a swath of short wave trough energy still firing ts across north Georgia tonight and suspect that some of this energy will approach our Georgia zones this afternoon which will traverse the stalling surface trough. Precipitable waters will continue around 2.3 inches with a slow northerly storm motion. Once again the main convective concern will be periods of heavy rainfall. Leaned toward the warm side of MOS temperatures and nudged up slightly due to recent cool bias. Still expect middle 90s across most zones today which will continue the record consecutive days of 90+ temperatures at Gainesville.

Today's Pollen Levels: 6.1 Medium (on a scale to 12); Predominate Pollen: Ragweed, Grass and Chenopods.
