Today's WX Outlook...

Weather Underground

NWS/Jax

..Temperatures Will Approach 100 Degrees Today...

Today: Partly cloudy. A 20 % chance of showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon. Highs in the mid 90s. Southwest winds 5 to 10 mph.

Tonight: Partly cloudy. Lows in the lower 70s. Southwest winds 5 to 10 mph.

Hot temperatures are forecast with maximum temperatures expected to average in the mid 90s south of the interstate 10 corridor and in the upper 90s along and north of the I-10 corridor. Even the beaches will climb well into the 90s. If you plan to be outside, avoid prolonged exposure or strenuous physical activity, drink plenty of fluids to avoid dehydration.

Isolated thunderstorms are possible this afternoon south of a line from Gainesville to Saint Augustine.

Forecast Details: .middle to upper level low near Cape Hatteras will move north today and become absorbed by an upper trough tonight. Surface low will remain over the Carolinas. One trough from the Carolina surface low will extend southwest to the Gulf Coast and another weaker trough is forecast to extend down the East Coast of the United States into Florida. The weaker winds along this trough will likely allow an Atlantic sea breeze to move inland over our far southern counties this afternoon. The extra moisture and forcing along this mesoscale boundary may be just enough to support an isolated shower or thunderstorm south of a Gainesville to Saint Augustine line.

Today's Pollen Levels: 3.3 Low Medium (on s a scale to 12); Predominate Pollen: Grass & Nettle.
