Forecast Details: drier air has been slowly filling in behind the weak front that is now south of the forecast area. As far south as I-10 corridor the dew points are in the mid 60s. Humidity levels will be more comfortable the next couple days and nighttime temperatures will be cooler with most areas away from the coast dropping into the 60s. High-pressure surface to aloft will build into the region resulting in fewer clouds and highs warming into the 90s except for coastal communities where onshore winds will hold temps in the upper 80s. Warm and dry airmass aloft will prevent thunderstorm activity Tuesday and Wednesday.
1988 - Thunderstorms in the Florida Keys drenched Tavernier with 7.16 inches of rain in 24 hours.
1989 - Thunderstorms produced severe weather over the Central Gulf Coast Region during the day and evening. Thunderstorms deluged Walnut Hill and Avalon Beach, FL, with eight inches of rain.
